Born in Slovakia in 2004, Lucas (Luki) Amadeus Wingell moved to Toronto, Canada in 2010. He now resides in Haliburton, Ontario. His artistic journey began in high school where he took numerous art classes, culminating in his art being presented at Haliburton’s, Rails End Gallery, as a participant in the group exhibition, “Forgotten” in 2023.
Lucas finds inspiration in history, linguistics, and in his Slovak and Canadian heritage. He has been particularly influenced by the art of his mother, Brona Wingell, and her partner, Ritchie Sinclair, whose paintings have surrounding him since childhood.
His sketches in graphite and/or ink on paper explore contrasting structural elements, vibrations, and perspectives, to in a sense, sculpt environments and forms out of the aether. Lucas paints his brightly coloured symbolic artworks on canvas using acrylic mediums.
He is currently studying fine art with the Haliburton School of Art and Design in Haliburton, Ontario, Canada.
Would you like to view some of his recent paintings and renderings, or perhaps purchase a high quality fine art poster by him?
