I had always been inclined to art, which I enjoyed exploring during my secondary school years. After high school I went on to study art at the Haliburton School of Art and Design’s, Fleming College, where I’ve experimented with my creativity while contemplating my future career possibilities as an artist. I find that I am driven to make art to exercise my imagination, and I hope to be successful as an artist.
I am of both Slovak and Canadian descent and these two cultures have had an influence on me as an artist.
I work with various mediums, such as graphite-coloured pencils and sharpies, ink on paper and illustration boards. I prefer these materials because they are simple and easily accessible, and they provide high contrast results.
My early inspiration came from my mom and her partner, Ritchie, who are both excellent artists. Mom learned from Ritchie, and Ritchie learned from Norval Morrisseau. My work is about evolution, its complexity, and the concept of change. I am also interested in exploring more vibrational stylings.
Going forward, I will continue studying art at Fleming College with a focus on fibre arts, and see where it takes me next.
